Total Care System™
We employ every advanced cultural practice available in caring for and nurturing your trees to ensure maximum vigor at planting time. When Fall is here and the trees are ready for harvest, our Total Care System™ is ready to work for you. The Total Care System™ is an exclusive, unique method of storing your trees to decrease de-hydration and limb breakage for a higher rate of success for new plantings. This is accomplished through several steps:

1. Willow Drive harvests your trees as they reach full maturity.

2. After digging, the trees are quickly taken to our storage facility to prevent desiccation.

3. The trees are sized and graded, then they are bundled, tagged and placed in sawdust filled pallets. Trees are color coded prior to harvest to prevent mistakes in sorting and delivery. This method of storing the trees is the foundation to our Total Care System™. It provides the finest possible care of trees while in storage. The trees are stored upright to prevent injury and improve air circulation to control mold while keeping the root zone comfortably embedded in moist sawdust. The moist medium prevents dehydration yet keeps the roots in good planting condition.

4. After the trees have been palletized, they are moved directly to our refrigerated storage. Through proper temperature and humidity control your trees are kept in superior condition. Willow Drive Nursery has recently doubled its on-site storage capacity, implementing advanced technology for handling and storing trees. State-of-the-art storage facilities preserve and protect large, well-feathered trees during storage and delivery.

Trees are harvested and stored in these upright pallets in a temperature-controlled environment. These tough, waxed, double walled truck boxes provide maximum protection for your trees during cross country shipping.

5. From storage, the trees are shipped via our exclusive pallet system (Washington and close proximity only) or in a waxed inner-lined box that protects your trees and conserves moisture.

Trees can be planted directly from pallets in which they have been stored since harvest. We highly recommend that whenever possible, you use our pallet method of shipping to save time, labor, handling, and to prevent tree damage. If planting must be delayed, place the pallets in a shady location and keep the sawdust moist. Experience has shown that our pallet system greatly reduces limb breakage and allows us to ship the trees in a more grower-friendly way.
